Mark all as read
It's been hard to focus over the last couple of months, I don't think I need to go into much detail as to why. I've had my next blog post sitting fully outlined for a while here, and I'll get it out sooner or later. That post isn't the only thing I've fallen behind on; I got up to over 200 unread posts in my RSS feed reader. While I love the format for not letting things slip by in the same way a social media timeline does, it also made for one more overwhelming number among everything else happening.
Some of those posts I'm sure I would have loved to read, while some I really just didn't want to think about. I could have sat down and dedicated time to sorting through them, clearing out what I didn't care to read, and getting through some of what I did, but instead I just marked everything as read. I'm not always able to keep on top of everything in my feeds, and I don't have to. I want to stay informed of course, but I also want opening up the feed reader to be more enjoyable than it is stressful on the whole.
If you're finding yourself in a similar position I'd recommend that you consider doing the same. There will always be more to catch up on, there's no need to put any additional pressure on yourself to get through more of it. Take care of yourself, it's the first step to doing anything else.
